Regulators Clamp down on Funds

Fiduciary Wealth Team

The UK regulators have already clamped down on so called unregulated investments, you know the ones I mean that typically might invest in timber, foreign land or other esoteric schemes. These types of investment often promise higher than average returns but by their nature are more risky and are often extremely illiquid because buying and selling can be difficult. Of course when investors understand these problems they may well try and exit which causes further liquidity problems and may in certain cases lead to schemes failing. Now if the regulator is concerned shouldn’t you be worried too? After all if you have put a large proportion of your pension fund or investable assets into such a scheme then you potentially have a lot to lose.
